About the Event

Get More Out of IFA. Before You Arrive.

Hosted entirely online, the Techfluence IFA Preview helps brands, journalists, creators, analysts, and other industry opinion leaders connect before everyone arrives in Berlin. Participating brands provide an early look at the products, announcements, and technologies they’ll be showcasing at IFA, while attendees get an advance opportunity to discover what’s coming, ask questions, schedule meetings, and decide which companies they want to spend more time with during the show. By helping both sides connect early, the Techfluence IFA Preview makes everyone’s time in Berlin more productive.

For Brands & Attendees

Why Exhibit & Who Attends

Why Exhibit

IFA is one of the biggest and most important events in consumer technology. It is also a major investment of time, budget, and resources. Once you have committed to being in Berlin, can you afford not to give your company every possible opportunity to succeed?

The Techfluence IFA Preview helps your brand begin building awareness and relationships before the show floor opens. Instead of waiting until everyone arrives, you can introduce your products early, answer questions, schedule meetings, and get onto the radar of journalists, creators, analysts, and other industry opinion leaders while their plans are still taking shape.

By the time IFA begins, participating companies have already started the conversations that can lead to more productive meetings, stronger follow-up, and greater visibility throughout the show. Brands that sit it out are left competing for attention after schedules are packed and the noise level is at its highest.

Who Attends

Techfluence Showcase Events attract a curated, opt-in audience of consumer technology journalists, creators, analysts, broadcasters, bloggers, and other industry opinion leaders from across the U.S. and around the world.

Attendees include major national outlets and leading YouTube channels, as well as category specialists, trade publications, lifestyle media, syndicated journalists, independent reviewers, and emerging voices actively looking for products, stories, and technologies to share with their audiences.

Drawing on more than two decades producing consumer technology events, Techfluence founder Barry Myers has built a media and creator network that rivals those of leading consumer tech PR firms — one further expanded through Techfluence’s influencer marketing relationships.

Prefer Your Own Preview?

If your announcement deserves its own spotlight—or your schedule doesn’t align with the Showcase date—we can produce a private IFA Preview Briefing using our Launch Event format.

Private briefings are ideal before IFA to build awareness, introduce products, and schedule meetings—or after IFA to reconnect with key contacts, follow up on conversations, and reach media and creators you may not have had time to meet in Berlin.

You’ll receive a dedicated webinar presentation, your own branded Virtual Breakout Room, flexible scheduling, and the same attendee recruitment, event management, and post-event reporting that power our Showcase Events.

The Backstory

Built by Someone Who Understands What Matters.

Our virtual event platform was designed by Techfluence founder Barry Myers, a consumer tech expert with over 20 years of experience helping brands cut through the noise, create buzz, and drive growth.

Long before Techfluence, Barry was pioneering new ways for brands to connect with the people who influence consumers’ purchase decisions. He held leadership roles at Ziff Davis and AOL, working alongside editors from PCMag and Engadget.

At Ziff Davis, he co-founded DigitalLife, a first-of-its-kind four-day pre-holiday tech event for press and enthusiasts. Barry then joined Engadget founder Peter Rojas at gdgt and created gdgt Live, a tabletop event series that grew to 12 cities before AOL acquired gdgt. At AOL, Barry was in charge of the Engadget event program, including Engadget Live and Engadget Expand.

Barry left AOL to create getgeeked Events. Held in New York and San Francisco, getgeeked added a focus on content generation to traditional media events. By negotiating deals between exhibitors and creators to create video content at the events, he laid the groundwork for today’s creator-driven launch strategies long before influencer marketing was a thing.

When COVID shut down live events, Barry pivoted to virtual events—but took a very different approach. Rather than overcomplicate them with unnecessary bells and whistles, he built a robust platform focused squarely on helping brands share their products, answer questions from attendees, build relationships, and generate coverage.

Techfluence was never intended to replace in-person events. Instead, Barry envisioned it as a new, cost-effective, easy-to-execute tool for PR and marketing teams that combined the global reach of a press release, the engagement of a live event, and the data-collection capabilities of a digital platform.

Barry personally manages every Techfluence event, bringing his 20+ years of experience and industry expertise to every company that participates.

The technology may be virtual. The relationships are very real.
